Kiwanis and Vera Deacon

On Monday the 4th July 2011, during the regular monthly Coal River Working Party meeting, a presentation was made by the East Maitland Kiwanis Club to Vera Deacon and the University Foundation.

The cheque represents the proceeds of the Amazing Race event that was held earlier in the year to raise funds for the University’s Vera Deacon Regional History Fund and Lifeline.

The Presentation was made by Rae Pidgeon, Secretary of the Kiwanis Club and Melanie Patfield of East Maitland to Vera Deacon and Libby Rodgers-McPhee of the University Foundation at Monet’s Cafe located on the historic James Fletcher Hospital, site of the original Government Domain dating back to 1804.
